First off, go you on trying something new.
Secondly, love the descripts on the people.
And then, Babbs?
I want to take baton. Not just ordinary baton...but the kind where you light the ends on fire. You think Babs might be interested in taking it with me????????
I wish I was in that class with you! People need to lighten up. But I will say this, when I attended my first Jazzercise class, I (totally accidentally) kept almost running into the person next to me and I'll tell ya, she was NOT AT ALL AMUSED. I am waiting on pins and needles for video of your first recital performance, though.
BTW, I'm ashamed to say that my "band" consisted of me and three of my best friends who talked a lot about being in a band while consuming a lot of wine and cocktails. But I love the image of death metal Cookie Monster . . .
And this comment doesn't have a lot to do with anything other than I love the pictures you have with your posts.
i started tap at age 30, and that's 30 years ago! i wasn't esp. good at it, but i loved it. it's so much the opp of so much other dancing: you have to hang loose and relax, not tighten yr muscles. there's so much variation in personal style that's possible. my teacher, who was a lovely, funny, gay man, very appreciative of each person in the class no matter the level of skill, had once worked w. bob fosse [does that name still mean anything to anyone??], but none of the glamor passed onto me. tap is wonderful. hope you love it as much as i did.
Sexagenarian, you are an inspiration. I think next time I'll take a community class rather than one at the college. Despite what the Girls Gone Wild videos may leave us to believe, college girls can be boring... Meanwhile, I'll try to relax.
First days are always yucky. Give the group time to gell and I'm sure all will be fine.
